Scarlett Choi

I've always had a passion for telling stories and a desire to create. When I was little, I would spend hours making books and characters. I had a love for phonetics and the way words sounded with each other.

I still write for the same reasons and many more. Writing is a form of self-expression for me, as well as a way to process emotions and make sense of the world. I am inspired by the things I see around me, great literature I want to emulate, music and movies that move me, and the thoughts and behaviors of the people in my life. Writing is a way for me to learn about myself.

In this portfolio, I've chosen to only include work that I've done independently, as it is not only my proudest work, but also the truest reflection of me.

My dream as a writer is to create work that resonates with people through artistic originality and emotional authenticity. Whether it's fantasy or the mundane, I want to tell real stories with vivid descriptions and a focus on character psychology and interaction. I hope that my writing feels like an honest reflection of real human experience.

Through education, I want to be challenged and stimulated, focusing on developing my voice, and eventually designing my own path. I always find myself learning more, and I want to continue that journey.
